I am so happy that I have found a great place to go in the evenings for a friendly drink. Its at the Social club in Palmer road, which has been completely made over and is very impressive. First time I have posted on this happy page, so glad this is here as well. |

What a superb day at the 3rd Annual Village Market & Celebration of Sussex Crafts. Congratulations to Val for organising this event so well once more and, of course, arranging beautiful weather yet again!!!
Unfortunately, running a stall, makes it difficult to get around and see the others very much. I did, however, manage to stock up on the marvellous sausages and pies on offer.
The AVL gazebo had people coming through all the time and I hope they enjoyed seeing the photos of old Angmering.
Thanks also to St Margaret's for providing the free bacon butty and tea for stallholders before the event got going. It was really appreciated.
I hope that all those who attended enjoyed themselves. |

Sometimes you just have to sit back and think,
We live in a lovely part of the country, within five mins we can be on the beach or in the depths of the woods. Within ten - in the heart of a busy town or in a number of small villages.
Happiness is different for all, for me it is seeing my grandchildren experience things for the first time - nothing can beat the expressions on their faces.
I am a great believer in the joys of wildlife and conservation and am happy to to be in a position to enjoy our natural world (and hopefully share this with the younger members of my family).
If you can do a good deed for some one - do it.
Live and let live - life is to short to worry about what others are doing. Do your own thing and enjoy it. Share knowledge and support each other.
Everyday is a bonus - make the most of what we have. |

I just have to say how happy I am! I moved into my new place just over a month ago, and it was just about the best move of my life! I have a beautiful view of a water lily filled lake, turtles lining up on a log to sun themselves every day, and a family of otters that like to play on my jetty. I wish I could share the peace and quiet with you all! You could come and sit on my deck, with a cup of tea,(or green tea!!!!!) watch the goings on, and listen to the quiet!! |

We're overjoyed. Our first grandchild was born last night. Matthew James weighed in at 7lbs 9oz. Mother and baby are fine. Grandma and Grandpa are doing as well as can be expected! |

Awwww!! He's beautiful!!! Looks a little worried already though. Maybe he's thinking about having to take over the forum from Grandpa, when he's older. |

I also thought it was hilarious. However, for some reason, my wife doesn't!
As for taking over the Forums from me, I think this is quite possible. When he was 4 days old I received an email from him sending me some pictures and saying how he had already mastered email and the internet. He also said he is now learning how to use Sky+ !!!!! |

Well, what a lovely village this is and what a whole lot of really lovely people we have. Having just finished the Bus Launch I am delighted at the support we have received from local people. It was just coming from everyone/everywhere and it was really quite overwhelming. So many genuine people, I cannot say thank you enough to them all. We may all have a good moan, but today showed a fantastic spirit. I am proud to be part of this village.

I think today would be a good day for a few more posts on here about what they are happy about!
I enjoy living here as it is quiet with a village feel, yet is also modern and within easy reach of local amenities and transport links. I also am very happy with both William Olders Playgroup and St Margaret's School. They are both great assets to Angmering.
Anyone else fancy saying something happy about Angmering today?

I love the weather here!
I'm new to the village but I have already discovered a multitude of positive aspects to living here. The history of the place is absolutely charming and something that I'm getting really fascinated by. I particularly like the open Square and the layout of the shops around it. The parks and the open spaces on the edge of the village make the whole area very enjoyable for walking and quiet contemplation. I feel very fortunate to have moved into a proper community where there's room to move but you don't feel isolated. |

Agree Stonechipper. Sitting in the sun at Cafe Feliz this morning, drinking their excellent coffee, taking in the view of the village centre, and watching comings and goings was very pleasurable.
Here you can talk to residents (old and new) and visitors to the village and forget all negative feelings! Chatted to a friendly couple from BG who were doing the same thing as me, who had discovered what a lovely place Angmering actually is.
Despite what is written, I like Bramley Green and few days go by when I don't walk through part of it. |

This topic has gone a little quiet of late, so...
Very simply, I love being so close to the sea and also the countryside/South Downs.
10 mins jog south and you're on the front - and North you're immediately in the beautiful and outstanding Angmering Park. Stunning!
There aren't many places around where you get such a wonderful twixt. I just think sometimes we should remember how lucky we all are living where we do. |

Very nice dillydaisy I feel that your joining the forum is now fully justified and you'll fit right in. You don't drive a 4x4 as well do you?
The most important part is keeping Angmering moving in the right direction and building the community. After all everyone's house has been built on a green field. BG is just the latest but won't be the last.
My mention on here goes to the Market on Fletchers Field on 1st Aug. I thought that was excellent. I'm looking forward to the Celer8 week later in September. |

I am so happy I do not own a car. I am happy walking everywhere. I am so happy the way everyone stops to talk to you or say hello. I am happy that even the 'youth' bother to speak to me.
by the way, wrong thread greenfields but what is celer8 week? |

Making a snowman with my grandson, then getting beaten in a snowball fight (by a 5 year old). What a really great Sunday morning. Happy - beyond words. |

Hi, my first post, hope it comes out ok.
We've lived here in Angmering for some 6 months now, here's some things I like:
Greetings or nods from people I pass as I walk around the village, 'good morning' etc.
Lunch in Cafe Feliz on a Saturday.
The cheerful lady at Angmering station who sells me a cup of tea in the morning on my way to London.
Peace and quiet!

I would like to say a big thank you to whoever it was that took the post out at the entrance to the car park at the community centre. They have made me very happy as they proved I am not the only one that had an argument with it!

No sweetness and lite, I 'stroked' it with your car! The post stayed where it was. Now someone has been kind enough to take it out from the bottom!!

I think you severely damaged the post, Patty, because the car that took out the post did not have anywhere near the damage as your car that you so dearly loved!!! However, as the subsequent car was a BMW, the repair bill was of the order of £2000!
I took a sledgehammer to the remains of the post and filled the hole with earth. Don't think that the APC will be replacing that post - unless of course you know different. |

aha Neil, I suspect our repair bill was somewhat higher than the BMW. Apparently the doors on hubbies pride and joy were £600 each whereas the average BMW is only £450 - so the garage told us. So, two doors, plus sills, plus fitting, and some spraying. Dont think I damaged the post as much as the post damaged the car!! Love to know how many people actually had dealings with that post, before yu got to take a sledgehammer to it.
As this is the happy page, I am extremely happy you took a sledgehammer to the remains of that post. A good job all round..
May it never return!!
