I am very happy that on Sunday I managed to get my Mum in the car and take her shopping to Worthing.
Parked on 6th floor of car park only to find lift not working, so I pushed the wheelchair swiftly down the ramps.
(came back in the M&S lift).
She had a good couple of hours looking in the shops, and was quite overwhelmed by how things had changed since the last time she had been shopping.
The biggest new thing? Those funny little machines on the counters where they just waved the stuff at and it appeared printed on the till.
I realised she meant barcoding. So she has not been to the shops since barcoding came out. Wow, that was a long time ago.
Not too many aches and pains for both of us the following day, so happy we managed the trip.

Well - Yes - as I know where you are coming from. We now have an extremely sexy 3.2 litre V6 Mercedes Benz, something like I was thinking of in the first place, but even better.

Do to this what you did with what it replaced and just, well - don't come home - OK!

BTW - there must be better ways of communicating. RU on FaceBook?

Hello Angmering. We arrived in Aug 2008 after 5 horrendous years in emergency housing in Littlehampton. What a difference!! Everyone here is friendly, welcoming, neighbourly and polite, young and old alike. The atmosphere of the village is very homely and the local shops and services are all excellent. After being on the housing waiting list for so long (7 years in total) it is wonderful to have finally been offered such a lovely place in which to set down some roots.

Thank You all!!!

We're all in this together - Gods name is irrelevant.

Well, the Summer is nearly over and, apart from a rather disappointing August, it has generally been quite a good one! Even the grass is at last turning green again.

Peace broke out in the village in 2010 and it has been encouraging that there has not been too much moaning on the Forums. Yes, they've been quiet, but that's OK by me. APC have been able to get on with their business, planning ahead, and a generally low level of criticism seems to have brought about a relatively stable council for the first time in several years. Their "Angmering in Bloom 2011" project is something we should look forward to next year.

This peaceful period has hopefully provided time for some old wounds to heal and will allow village organisations to work better together. That can only be for the good.

The new Community Centre has been operating successfully (with only a few minor problems) and its success seems to have stimulated new bookings at the Village Hall - so everyone's a winner!

We should spare a thought for our neighbours, East Preston, who are going through a difficult time at present with their Village Hall plans, similar to the situation we in Angmering experienced for several years with the CC and which was terribly destructive. Hopefully, they will find an equitable solution.
