Welcome, jezPR. Angmering is indeed a very nice village/parish despite the impression you might possibly get when reading these Forums! Nowhere is without some warts!
With regard to shops, they are a bit mixed. In the centre of the village we have a Co-op grocery store that was recently expanded. This sells a limited amount of vegetables and a very small selection of fresh meat. It has a small bakery where fresh bread and cakes are produced every day, and has a large selection of wines. The shop also contains the village Post Office.
Elsewhere in the village centre is a newsagents, craft/framing shop, off-licence, fish & chip shop, Indian take-away, pub, and a Portuguese café where you can sit outside in the sun and waste a lot of time (you can see what I do ). There is also a library with a specialist children's centre (you can even borrow toys!), and three hairdressers. A chemist/pharmacy is situated about 250m from the village centre adjoining a large modern medical centre.
A specialist bakery was due to be opened a couple of months ago but little progress is being made. A florist will be opening in a couple of weeks' time.
For a wider range of meats and veg, Sainsbury's is situated literally only a few minutes drive away and is walkable if you live in the southern part of the village. Specialist butchers and bakers can be found in Rustington less than 10 minutes drive away.
Situated between the A27 and A259, there are excellent road links. However, the bus runs only once an hour from Mondays to Saturdays (and not in evenings). Angmering Station is situated on the southern boundary of the parish about 20-25 min walk from the village centre.
There are walks from the village onto the Downs and into the woods in the north of the parish. |

Hi jezRP,
Just to agree with Neil, Angmering is a lovely place to live. I am on the Bramley Green Estate and although there may be around 700 houses on the estate, it is quiet and peaceful. I am in the garden this afternoon and thinking how lovely it is here.
So if you do come this way - welcome. |

Also worth mentioning that Angmering is twinned with it`s French Seaside neighbour Ouistreham sur Mer.Not sure if this correct spelling. This leads to regular reciprocal visits.

Not to mention the warm welcome that all the villagers give to incomers. |

Hello, I've lived in brighton, hove, shoreham, southwick and now angmering. It's a lovely place to live. Rustington is very close by and has lots of local shops. Plus sainsburys is only 5 mins away by car. The schools are good, there are two nursery schools in the village and I can recommend a nearby childminder as I have two young kids. Send me a message on here if you have any questions. Good luck with your move |

jezPR - try looking at the website for the Littlehampton Gazzette (local paper) then use the property today icon. It shows rentals in all the local towns/villages |

Go to www.rightmove.co.uk or the local estate agents like holmes and co, graham butt, molica franklin, etc. You'll have to look hard though. I have a small=ish 3 bed and it has a rental value of £850. Good luck! |
