Be interested to know how many others at Angmering polling stations were flummoxed by the "ambush ballot" they were presented with last night.

I refer, of course, to the green 'pick 13 from 15' ballot. I spoiled my ballot writing "who are they?" across it.

The queue at the Community Centre last night was because of nearly everyone asking "sorry, what's this one for?" about the green ballot.

Nice to see the Parish hid the election notice under News on their website. 1st time in 9 yrs (if memory serves) they're elected & they hide it away. Why?

Everyone knew there was a District & referendum election, why was the Parish one advertised so badly (a unique event like that should have been shouted from the rooftops).

Be interesting to see how many 'null' ballots there are for this election to the Parish - I'll wager they've just lost any legitimacy they may have had.

Have raised issue with Parish - apparently we all knew because there were signs in the Parish Office window. That's good then.

Outsider,
Has you rightly point out, this was the first time in a while that you had the chance to vote for your Parish Council. Surely this was 'News' and appeared to be in the right place on the PC website. To claim that they 'hid it away' is incorrect. It was on the front page of the last PC newsletter, the one that is delivered to all households.....including yours. It has been on all village notice boards and office window, but most importantly, as you choose to post on these forums, Neil has ensured that it featured on this site and has been openly discussed by many.
What must anyone do to satisfy everyone - maybe that's an impossible task.

Never judge what you don't understand.

I can see both Outsiders and Nigel's points of view

But on the specific matter of APC's website, the fact is that it is poor and inflexible. Parish Council after Parish Council over the last 10 years has promised to revamp their site - but none actually have (the last makeover was a joke!). Incredibly, APC could not even be bothered to put any words on their opening page - this page could have been used for pointing to matters happening in the village or even the local elections rather than leaving them tucked away.

I wonder whether the new Parish Council will make any empty promises on having a new website that is fit for purpose.

We already have a topic under the subject of "Parish Council Elections," that has been running for some time.

The fact that Outsiders has started a second one, suggests he/she may not have noticed and read it. May well be why he/she is not well informed.
