Walked through Bramley Green this morning from Honey Lane to the A259. Number of people seen: 0. Good location for a disaster movie? And the Community Centre hardly looked like a vibrant location.

Living really close to the Community Centre, I have been pleased to see the use of the building.I have seen that Fridays is a quiet day for the place but most days things are happening there.I do agree with Derek in that even in School holidays on the estate it seems quiet. We walk all around Angmering and apart from Village centre all roads seem very quiet not just Bramley Green.

Derek, the reason you saw nobody is because we all saw you coming and ran and hid... we all know how happy it makes you to be able to report your valuable observations on BG and post them up for everyone to enjoy, and would hate to disappoint.

Everyone on Bramley Green worries day in day out that one day you will catch us out actually being part of the local community.

Keep up the good work old chap.

hello nice to meet you ;o)

How very droll! Glad you're attempting to raise the standard of posting.
An example to us all.

And this topic is raising the standard?

I'm glad you had a pleasant walk through the estate, and you've obviously been stunned by the peace and quiet on Bramley Green.

A different spin on your post could have been:
I walked through the Bramley Green estate today and was amazed how peaceful and tranquil it is.

If you want a bit more life, I would suggest you walk through on a Saturday morning, you can then see the volume of people using the community centre. The car park looked full yesterday morning.

I actually enjoy the peace and quite on the estate as there's too much noise and rushing about in life.
I have on occasions been down to the village and been the only one walking about. Although that's could be a worry for the local shops, I like it. Having lived in quite a large town and then moved to Angmering, I love the village and I never want to live in a big town again.

Keep smiling

All Angmering roads seem quiet at the moment - probably people staying in because of the cold weather!

hairspray and Greenfields are quite correct - the Community Centre is very busy at times, especially on Mondays to Thursdays. Fridays - when DD walked there - is the one day at present it lacks many bookings but I'm sure that will be rectified over the next year. For some reason people are avoiding Friday bookings - I wonder why?

Short Mat Bowls, Choi Kwang Do, Dancing, fitness classes, and Table Tennis are all extremely popular at the Centre. I run a table tennis club there on a Monday afternoon and we cannot take any more new members as we are fully subscribed. The Angmering Short Mat Bowls Club session was packed last Thursday when I went.

You can see the activities that take place at the Centre and the days they operate in this month's "All About Angmering" (page 48) that you should have received a week or so ago.

It was merely a comment, people. Not a criticism. If you are happy living in Bramley Green, all power to you. It's very nice. Just empty a lot of the time. Lighten up!
