I am sure I will be shot down in flames - but here we go. Youth Bus should arrive at 7pm arrived at 6.20! Throughout the course of the evening we had young children smashing bottles which the attendants had a word with them, the wooden fence that was halfway down is now completely down and I understand that they threw it onto the mound! Is it really worth spending money on these projects, whilst they are treating the local area in such a bad way?
I was one of those youth volunteers who did arrive early, at 1830, because we had just got the bus through the MOT so that will be a one-off. We cannot prevent all bad behaviour but yes a bottle was broken but it had been abandoned by someone as litter and the young person responsible was reprimanded and is excluded from the Bus next week. As for the fence panel, that was broken before we arrived and we turned it round to prevent 6 inch nails being exposed. Come on, get behind the bus and the young people! One of our helpers is carrying the Olympic Torch next month in South Bersted. Be proud of your village and look for the positives not the negatives.
Because we take any criticism seriously, we have repaired the fence (which we did not damage) in our own time and at our own expense. We would love to play on the field but the grass is about 18 inches long with hidden dog poo! I understand the bunding has prevented the County Council cutting the grass. No children played in the road last night.
