Some days ago a lady walked her Border Collie down the footpath beside the Medical Centre to go over Ham Manor Golf Course towards Sainsbury's. Her dog ran into the woodland on the right of the pathway ahead of her. A few moments later she found her dog choking, it had picked up a golf ball which lodged in its windpipe. The poor creature died with the bewildered and distraught owner beside it. She had no idea why the dog was unable to breath.
Many people walk dogs on the public footpaths over the Ham Manor and Rustington Golf Courses, dogs find lost golf balls which can can easily slip down the throat of a medium orlarger sized dog. Please keep them on a lead so you can see what they find. This was a tragic and traumatic event for the owner to witness. |
