In tranquil gardens behind Angmering's Library once stood the old parish church of East Angmering, dedicated to St Nicholas. Barely 130 metres to west was the parish church of West Angmering (St Margarets). In 1978 the site was purchased by Arun District Council and leased to Angmering Parish Council as a recreational area for the village.
