Barrett Homes partners Guides & Brownies

As spring blossoms, Barratt Homes have partnered with Angmering Brownies and Guides to embrace the season with colour and creativity by taking part in a special egg decoration competition. During their spring break, 29 members of Angmering Brownies and 21 members of Angmering Guides were invited by Barratt Homes to decorate small wooden eggs, transforming them into unique works of art. This initiative was designed to inspire creativity, celebrate the arrival of spring and provide a fun, hands-on activity for the Brownies and Guides.

The competition saw an array of inventive designs reflecting both the spirit of spring and the individuality of each Brownie and Guide. Entries will be judged by the Brownies and Guides leaders, who will select a winning design. The creator of the winning egg will receive a £20 book voucher in recognition of their creativity and effort.

Rachel Thornley, Angmering Brownies leader, commented: "We're always looking for ways to help our brownies and guides build confidence and express themselves, and this activity did exactly that. It was wonderful to see how each child approached the challenge differently, there was so much imagination and pride in their work. Activities like this really bring the group together."

Phil Hurring, Marketing Manager at Barratt Redrow Southern Counties, commented: "At Barratt Homes, supporting the communities we build in is incredibly important to us, and projects like this are a great way to connect to local families. The creativity shown by the Brownies and Guides has been fantastic, and we're proud to have played a small part in encouraging that as we celebrate the arrival of spring."

Barratt Homes are currently building at Fairway Gardens in Angmering, offering a mix of three- and four-bedroom homes for sale, with prices starting from £425,000. Roundstone Premier Inn

A Planning Application (A/41/26/PL) has been submitted by Premier Inn Hotels Ltd to demolish the old Roundstone Inn PH (built in 1936) and to replace it with a guest restaurant for guests of the Premier Inn already on the site. At the same time, they intend increasing the size of the hotel by a further 44 rooms, making a total of 83 rooms on the hotel complex.

Building to be demolished

Premier Inn has identified a considerable demand for additional budget hotel accommodation in this location. Equally, the existing hotel restaurant (which has been shut now for a couple of years) has shown a continued shortfall in demand. They therefore want to to reconfigure the hotel bedroom and restaurant on the site to ensure its success and future viability.

Water Lane Parking - The office and a resident have notified the Compliance team at ADC of the parking on Water Lane by the BMW/Chandlers/Oakleaf Place construction team which is causing traffic movement and parking problems along the lane. The compliance team have under ENF/79/26 informed the resident that this has been registered for further action. It must be noted that, being aware of the problems that could ensue, APC’s original comments were, that parking by constructor vehicles should be on the development site and not on Water Lane. We await the result of Compliance investigation and action.

Dappers Lane Footpath - At the request of a resident the Clerk advises that there has been no update on the construction of this long awaited and proposed footpath, but she will continue to pursue the relevant Authority.
