Welcome Bryan.

First, for the benefit of readers, I perhaps should make it clear that there were two separate Wady/Wadey families in Angmering, neither of them I believe being related. The first arrived in the 19th century and the second in the 20th century (I think from Wem in Shropshire).

The Census records indicate that the 19thC family/families came to Angmering from Horsham (perhaps from the Billingshurst Wadeys) and Houghton in the 1850s. But whether they were related to Bryan's ancestors, I do not know. Has anybody got any ideas?

Until looking at the IGI, I did not appreciate what a common Sussex name this was.

A Luke Wady, aged 56, was buried at Petworth in 1816. This makes his year of birth about the same as your younger Pulborough man, but the Petworth burial register gives no indication that he came from Pulborough.
