Hello, something has been on my mind for sometime, there used to be a "cash point" ATM in the village, but now that shop is gone theres no way to get any cash out, do you think anyone will ever fit another one into one of the stores, even if it has a small fee to use...just seems a shame as the next "atm" is around one or so miles away....

Most debit cards will work at the post office. Just ask for cash, stick your card in their terminal, and away you go. Obviously that only works during PO opening hours.

Or you can buy a sandwich or something at the co-op, pay with your debit card, and ask for cash-back.

But it would be much easyer to have a ATM, and from what i hear the Post office only accepts some types of cards, like last i heard it does not let people with debit visa cards take cash out...I really think a ATM is a good idea.

it is true you can get cash out at the post office only with some debit cards and not others, just not from all banks... if like me your card is not one you can use at the post office counter, you only have to buy a cheap item in the co-op to get cashback, e.g. a pack of matches or a banana
there are cash machines nearby inside the conveience store near the station, and also outside costcutter and slightly further along at sainsburys.

the fee incurred by users at a stand alone atm in angmering would most likely be more than the cost of buying an item in the shop to get cashback, plus somebody would have to pay for installation, maintenance etc of the machine.

hello nice to meet you ;o)

maybe when the village has so many houses it starts to be the size of a small town, there will be a free cashpoint...

Facilities in Angmering do not match up to requirements.

You hit the nail on the head when some one said you can only get money out from the PO during PO opening hours. I have said many times before on here, most of us work during the day ......

Why should we have to buy something to get at our own money?

Why should we have to travel to Rustington or East Preston to use their facilities?

Besides have you been outside cost cutters at night? Its a nightmare with a load of yobs hanging around outside..not nice.

Oh we can have a skate bowl which no one wants, we can have the cc, but something useful like a cashpoint, oh-no far too useful for the average person </rant>

it is still cheaper to buy a small packet of sweets or a banana for example, and get cashback, than to use the cash machine with the £1.75 fee... a quandry because if they stop allowing people to spend under £3 in the store to get cashback, they will lose out on co-op sales revenue, but then they will gain takings on the cash machine...
have to say i know i for one spend more in the store now that i can get cashback on just one item, so if they remove this facility in the store to force people to use the cash machine, am sure i am not the only one who will shop elsewhere...

Yes, but did you know theres a £50 limit for getting cash out,so if someone wants to get more then that out, the atm is a option really, which is good and Jammer its next to the wine etc, in co-op, i think its called co-op? its like next to the place you pay for things.. its the same type of one thats insalled in the shop near the station really. true, you could buy something and that would be like paying the "fee" but at lease now people who can not use the post office can use this, plus it gives the shop alittle extra income :)

When I looked at the Co-op machine this morning, display suggested that transaction charges were £1.50. "All bank cards accepted" says the sign for the cash machine in the Co-op window.

i think £1.50 is not to bad, , if you wish to go to another and have no car and do not wish to walk, the other option is the bus. which costs much more then £1.50 , :P
