A couple of minor points regarding the Hammond family tree.

quote:

1.2.8.4.5 Amy HAMMOND (1853- )

b. 1853

1.2.8.4.6 Martha HAMMOND (1854- )

b. 1854

< ... >

1.2.8.4.7 Emma HAMMOND (c.1855- )

b. 1855 (app)

Above are three of the children of William and Ann HAMMOND as recorded on this site.

Martha's year of birth seems a little early. Her baptism at St Margaret's was on 17th August 1856, and her birth is probably that registered at Worthing in the September quarter of 1856.

Amy's baptism was 12th April 1853; her birth was registered at Worthing in the June quarter of 1853.

I can find no baptism and no birth registration for Emma. The only reference to Emma I can find is in the 1861 Angmering census where she is aged 7 (two years older than Martha). Amy is not recorded in the household.

I think in the 1861 census Emma is a mistake for Amy. Is there any other evidence that Emma, daughter of William and Ann HAMMOND, born about 1855, ever existed?
