As most people by now we have received a yellow sheet and two voting papers from Save Angmering - delivered through letterbox.
Now we have received an email to one of our email addresses from a 'G Duckworth' which is addressed to 'undiclosed_recipients' and starts 'Dear'Save Angmering''. We are very concerned that one of our email addresses has been disclosed to someone we don't know, don't want to hear from, and passed on by someone who did not have our permission to pass it on!
If someone gained this email address through it begin given either at the developer's exhibition or elsewhere connected with the proposed development, it should not have been passed on without our permission. Where is data protection!!!
Does anyone else have concerns about this? |

I haven't had any emails, but I was surprised by the leaflet which indicated that you had to be on the electoral roll to conmplete it. No indication as to why, so I'm guessing it's an attempt to make it look official. Fail. |
Be careful what you ask for - you just might get it. The views expressed in this posting are those of the author and must not be taken as representing any commercial, religious, political or other body. |

Paul....I was not involved in the construction of either the yellow leaflet or the green voting form. But I believe there was some talk about a parish referendum on this subject, which would have involved only parishoners who are on the voters register.
I assume, as a volunteer group have arranged, organised and funded the printing and delivery of these leaflets, they considered it appropriate for such a survey to be completed also by those on the electoral roll/voters register.
This seems very sensible to me, to ensure all those that respond to the survey, are entitled to vote in Angmering, and to ensure the credibility of the survey.
If they invited anyone to vote, the forms could be completed by anyone and the survey would have no credibility at all.
I disagree with your view, I think it is a most sensible and credible method of obtaining the views of Angmering residents, who would be entitled to vote in any type of election.
The forms clearly indicate that they have been distributed on behalf of "Save Angmering."
If my reasoning is incorrect, I am sure someone from the "Save Angmering" group will respond. |
