Felicia I will take up your comments here rather than where it should not be.(ie in the APC Forum)

Unfortunately you are as misguided as the donkeys who believe in the so called disaster of global warming.

We cannot survive without Coal/gas/oil/nuclear generation. You are prepared to sacrifice 10 square miles of land/sea bed for the generation of 600MW (Mega Watts) where as a single boiler/turbine unit of a power station that takes an area of less than 1 square mile will produce at least 900MW without waitng for the wind to blow.

Whoooee that should start the ball rolling!!!!

roosterbri, in accordance with APC Forum rules, 240Felicia's posting has been deleted for adding to your question to APC which is not allowed. Readers may therefore not fully understand your reply to her but I think they will get the drift if they read your question to APC and your response here.

You are quite correct in posting here in this instance. Thank you.

Coming off the fence, I have to say I am in agreement with you.

sorry neil didn't know about your rule there, consider my hand well and truly slapped

however, my opinion is not invalidated by others disagreement with it

i have no interest in discussion, just disagree that's all
and do remember an intital proposal is exactly that, and most likely not what will actually end up happening

For goodness sake woman:

A) No wonder we are having to bail the Irish out...I will leave my Irish jokes for another forum

B) That what you see is steam.IE Hot water.Didcot has a major desulphurisationplant to take out all the nasties.

for goodness sake yourself!

i did not suggest that there was anything other than steam coming from the cooling towers, what a silly thing to assume!

my point was that they are not nice to look at, and wind farms are (in my opinion, and having lived very near to one in cornwall i feel entitled to that opinion more so than most)

talking of donkeys, take a look in the mirror matey

Coming from an area where both wind farms (Skegness) and cooling towers (various ones across lincolnshire) are rife, I find neither unpretty nor pretty.

Will that rolling ball produce any electric?

If the windmills are 10 miles from shore and the horizon on a clear day is 7 miles, even given the hieght of the windmills will they be visable from the shore?

Harsh comment about the mirror!!

Methinks the lady smarts....but do I look like I care!!!!!!LMAO Pot, kettle, black comes to mind

By the way re horizon on a good clear day as you probably know you can see the Isle of Wight from Worthing Esplanade...I believe some 25 to 30 miles away

nah, methinks the lady is smart - she doesn't give a flying foxes bottom

(wouldn't it be nice to have some interesting wind turbines enhancing the otherwise rather uninterestng view of the isle of wight...)

Is there any subject that doesn't descend into personal insults. At least in the days of Mr Angry there was some wit behind the debate.

To bring the information into perspective

http://www.bwea.com/ukwed/offshore.asp

The total windmills so far built or planned 41236

The length of the coastline of the UK is 7732 miles.....nearly 6 windmills per mile of coast

WOW thats attractive and interesting....NOT!!!!

and thats without the flying foxes bottoms being disturbed by all the windmills on land....

Is your figure of 41236 correct, roosterbri? If taken from the weblink page you gave, it seems that the figure is a mixture of the number of aero-generators and MW output.

Roosterbri.....Can see the Isle of Wight agreed but can not see a boat or a block of flats, so the comment was based on the size of the windmill? Not knowing how big these things are.
Keep up the good work on the common sense approach to topics, lots of intelligent people in the world but many lack common sense.
Always good to have humour in the forum.

derek i don't even know roosterbri (i hope!) so fail to see how i could have made any personal insults and vice versa...

just poking fun in a lighthearted kind of way, as there's not a lot better to do in angmering of an evening, and they don't seem to be offended so much as you are, which i find amusing- you must be a very sensitive kind of chap

ps. i didn't realise that wit was a prerequisite when posting on here, perhaps you could lead by example and make your next post a little more entertaining

(edited due to the fact that my typing is utterly carp)
