I am looking for information about a family home in Angmering owned by Lord and Lady Lyle, probably at the turn of the twentieth century. My great aunt, Annie Forward, was lady's maid to Lady Lyle and I was told lived with her at Angmering.
I notice there are/were various large houses in and around the village; can anyone enlighten me?

The Lyle's do not appear as private residents in any of the 19thC and 20thC Kelly's Directories for Angmering.

Could it be that they lived in an area known as Angmering-on-Sea which is not in Angmering but in the parish of East Preston?

Have you checked the 1901 and 1911 Census records? If they are recorded in either of those, then an address should be available.
