We now know the candidates for the Arun District Council election on 5 May - just over two weeks' time. There are 7 candidates standing for election as Angmering District Councillors and voters may only vote for three of them.
For readers of these Forums, here is a list of the candidates in they order the appear on the voting form and what the form says about them:
1. BICHARD, Craig Anthony - 42 Downs Way (Liberal Democrat) 2. BICKNELL, Paul Andrew - 6 Birch Close (Conservative) 3. HARRIS, Don - Viskas, The Avenals (Independent) 4. HAZLEHURST, Jule Susan - 22 Bewley Road (Conservative) 5. LONGHURST, Julia Carolyn - Old Place Farm House, Rectory Lane (UKIP) 6. SLOWE, Peter Malcolm - 46 Beech View (Labour) 7. WENSLEY, Dudley Michael - Fir Tree Cottage, North Drive (Conservative)
Candidates are invited to tell us more about themselves here on the Forums and why they are standing as Angmering representatives on the District Council. |
I believe in responsible free speech. I do not necessarity agree with every statement made in these Forums and do not expect everybody to agree with me |

I am sure some, if not all, of the candidates for the three District Council seats for the Angmering Ward, (each resident has three votes in the Distrct Council election,) will be delivering leaflets to each household in the village.
I suggest therefore, that there is not such a need for candidates to provide information on this website, as there is in respect of candidates for the Parish Council election, whom are less likely to provide leaflets to every household. Some may of course choose do so.

May 3rd and not a peep.
That shows just how much these people think of their electorate...
Oh and Tories are only ones leafletting, but that has more to do with No To AV than anything local.
Spoilt ballot on Thursday methinks....
Hmmm.... Only Tories have bothered with leaflets. No LimpDem or other party seems to be bothered. Oh well, spooked ballot it is then.

We had a leaflet from one of the Parish Candidates, but that's all apart from the few that have posted on the forum. Nothing seen about the District Council ones.
I note the Parish Council have now posted profiles on their website: http://www.angmeringparishcouncil.gov.uk/assets/Candidatesforparishelections2011.pdf
Unfortunately too late for us though, as we posted our postal votes last week, and we didn't have much to choose from!
Maybe next time the Parish Council website could have the info a bit earlier, and the District Council could make info available about those candidates?
