Our local Councillor, Andy Cooper, has been 'elected' to the position of Vice-Chair of Angmering District Council. It would probably be unfair to suggest that this was a reward for not making waves over development plans in the village.

Interesting that, in addition to his Angmering responsibilities, he is also Chairman of Rustington Parish Council (just as well there are no planned developments in Rustington or he'd find his loyalties divided)

His wife also sits as a Councillor on Rustington Parish Council.

Don't you just love our local representatives?

Pity they didn't act earlier, then we might have had some faith in them. Now any action is just cynical, and they will pay for it at the next elections - assuming of course we get enough candidates to even hold an election, and the encumbents are not just waived through with the usual apathy of the village.

Having read the latest Parish Council minutes, it is most heartening to see that all our three Conservative District Councillors are now taking such a keen interest in village matters by attending PC meetings and contributing to discussions on a scale hitherto unknown.

I wonder why?

Sorry, meant Arun, not Angmering.

But in further news, Councillor Cooper's wife has now been elected to Vice Chair of Rustington Parish Council.

Local politics must be a vocation for the Coopers!
